The main character Anamaya Onyx is an outcast from society. One of her ancestors committed an atrocity that has left her bloodline outcasts and cursed. Although upon her mothers death she discovered a book and it looks as though she may have been innocent afterall. Determined to uncover the truth Anamaya decides to try to gain entry to Nightsbridge Academy to try to find the proof and clear the family name. Not an easy task when almost everyone is against you This book has it all, Horrors (monsters), a main character that will not back down which often gets her into dangerous situations and the possibility of two love interests. One is hiding secrets and the other has reasons for not taking things further as a matter from his past is unresolved. The romance is slow burn and barely there which normally disappoints me but in this case it didn't need it and there are reasons it is holding back. I really can't wait to get my hands on the next book, I need to know what happens next!

This wonderful start to a new series is fast-paced, has action, adventure, chemistry, biases, betrayal, powerful secondary characters, and defined MCs who are likable, engaging, determined, and have secrets. I enjoyed this entertaining and engaging read. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.
